Sri Lanka pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020 designed by university students

Students of the University of Moratuwa (UOM), in Sri Lanka are credited with  the design of the Sri Lanka pavilion at the Expo Dubai 2020. The University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka consists of five faculties namely Architecture, Business, Engineering, Graduate Studies and Information Technology.

Strategically located in the Opportunity District, the Sri Lanka pavilion will showcase the value of adaptability and an ability to transform challenges into opportunities. From local industries to human capital, Sri Lanka has strong capacity as a partner in trade and tourism.

Using digital screens to run informative videos, visitors will get to comprehend the different best practices from various sectors in Sri Lanka. Visitors will also get to know key attractions in Sri Lanka, covering culture and heritage, preserved ecosystems, spiritual abodes and many more.  Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn all about tea and how it is made, from leaf to cup, whilst enjoying a good cup on their journey along the pavilion.
